After high school
Landing your first job can be hard. That’s why we are focusing extra on you, as a young prospect interested in getting started in the job market. Interested in working in an exciting and always relevant industry?
At Axfood we need driven and engaged employees who are interested in working in retail and developing our business together with us. If you are a recent high school graduate we have many opportunities for you in the Group.
Work in one of our stores or warehouses
Previous experience in the retail sectors is not a must for us – we welcome everyone! What we attach great value to is commitment, cooperation, service mindedness, and cost- and quality consciousness. And of course – your passion for food and people.
A good way to enter the job market is by getting your first job in one of our stores. You will be responsible for making sure our shelves are well stocked with fresh products and for ensuring that our customers have the best shopping experience. You will have a fast-paced workday, where no single day is the same, and where you can inspire and contribute to more people eating good and sustainable food.
If you have turned 18, you can also work in one of our warehouses, where you will pick products for our stores and make sure that our stores receive the right products in the right way and at the right time. We have voice-steered picking systems and forklifts that help you navigate quickly and efficiently in our well-stocked warehouses. At some of our warehouses you even have access to a gym, where you can stay healthy and fit.
Young at Axfood – trainee programme for young people
Young at Axfood (“Ung i Axfood”) is our trainee programme for young people in which we offer vocational training jobs that can give you an avenue to a future with Axfood. By participating in this programme, and by showing you are eager, you will have a good opportunity to develop in a large Group with a number of store chains and many departments.
Our youth trainee programme involves one year of work in a store, where 75% of your time is spent working on the floor and 25% is spent in training. Of course, you will be paid for your entire time!
Young at Axfood is designed for you if you are younger than 25, have a high school degree, and are registered with Arbetsförmedlingen. The programme is offered at Willys and Hemköp stores throughout Sweden.
