Hemköp’s President, Thomas Gäreskog, will be leaving his current role once his successor has taken office.
After seven years in the role as President of Hemköpskedjan AB, Thomas Gäreskog will be leaving his assignment. Thomas will continue to serve as President of Hemköp until his successor has been recruited and taken office. Thomas will thereafter work with specific business development projects within the Axfood Group.
“I will continue the work on strengthening Hemköp’s offering and concept in line with existing plans until my successor is in place, and I look forward thereafter to stepping into a new role and contributing my experience to the Axfood Group’s development,” comments Thomas Gäreskog.
The recruitment process for a new President of Hemköp will start now.
Klas Balkow, President and CEO of the Axfood Group, comments: “Under Thomas’ leadership, Hemköp has grown with profitability in an increasingly competitive and fast-changing market. We agree that the time is right for Thomas to take on new assignments. At the same time that recruitment of the future President of Hemköp is conducted, we will ensure that decided development plans are carried out as planned. I am grateful that Thomas will continue to contribute his competence and extensive experience to business development for the entire Axfood family.”
